Powerverse UK Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 14860271 and has its registered office at County Hall, 5th Floor, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 7PB.

We are the data controller for information collected through our websites, apps, products and services. Powerverse is registered as an information protection fee payer with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number ZB569430.

3. What This Privacy Notice Covers

This notice describes how Powerverse collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information in connection with:

  • Our websites, customer app, and connected energy products
  • Smart Charging and Flexibility Services
  • Customer support, marketing and communications activities

This notice applies where Powerverse acts as the data controller. It does not apply to data processed solely on behalf of another party (where Powerverse acts as a data processor)

4. What Personal Information We Collect

The personal data we collect depends on how you interact with us and which services you use.

Information you provide directly

  • Contact details (name, address, telephone number, email)
  • Account details (login information, Powerverse ID, preferences and app usage)
  • Payment and billing data (card and transaction details)
  • Property and technical suitability data – e.g. electrical system information and installation suitability
  • Energy device data – EV charger, solar PV, battery, heat pump, connected appliances
  • Energy use, generation and storage data (real-time device-level data)
  • Communications (support requests, feedback)

Information collected automatically

  • Cookies and usage data (see Cookie Policy)
  • Device and technical data (IP address, browser type, OS, usage patterns)

Information obtained from third parties

  • Supply point identifiers (e.g. MPAN) obtained from energy suppliers or authorised industry data services
  • Installation partners (device compatibility and installation details)
  • Professional or business details (where you represent a company or partner)

5. How and Why We Process Personal Information

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

Do you have to provide this information?
Some personal information is necessary to provide our products and services to you. If you choose not to provide this information, we may not be able to enter into or fulfil our contract with you. Other information is optional (e.g. marketing preferences or analytics cookies) and will not affect your use of core services.

6. Smart Charging & Flexibility Participation

When you connect devices using the Powerverse app, you agree to participate in Smart Charging and Flexibility Services. These services use data and control signals to increase efficiency, reduce costs and carbon emissions, and support electricity grid operations.

Powerverse may:

  • Collect device telemetry and energy data to optimise charging or discharging
  • Collect your MPAN to confirm your supply point and validate flexibility events
  • Send control signals to reschedule device operation (based on your preferences e.g. ready-by time)
  • Share aggregated or pseudonymised data with regulated third parties such as DSOs, ESO, or Elexon for verifying flexibility performance and supporting market settlement

We do not share your personal identifiers with these parties unless legally required. You may request to disable Smart Charging and Flexibility Services at any time by contacting us.

7. Job Applicants and Recruitment

If you apply for a role with Powerverse, we will collect the information you provide to us as part of your application (e.g. name, contact details, CV, cover letter, work history and qualifications).

We process this information:

  • to assess your application and communicate with you
  • based on legitimate interests in recruiting staff, and
  • to take steps before entering into a contract with you

If unsuccessful, we retain application data for a limited period and then delete or anonymise it unless you consent to continued retention.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to provide our services, understand how they are used and improve them. For non-essential cookies, we rely on your consent. You can manage or withdraw your preferences at any time.

9. International Data Transfers

Your personal information may be processed outside the UK/EEA. When this occurs, we ensure equivalent protection through either adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other adequate transfer mechanisms as outlined by regulators. You may request a copy of safeguarding measures by contacting our DPO.

10. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share your information with:

  • Powerverse subsidiary companies
  • Hosting, analytics, database and customer support providers
  • Channel partners, installers, electrical contractors
  • Regulated market operators (DSOs, ESO, Elexon etc.)
  • Professional advisers (legal, banking, insurance, audit)
  • Partner organisations on innovation or research (using anonymised or pseudonymised data where possible)
  • Regulators, HMRC or law enforcement when legally required

We do not sell your personal data.

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose collected or required by law, after which it will be deleted or anonymised.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect confidentiality, integrity and availability of your data (including access controls, encryption, staff training, and contractual safeguards for processors).
